Service area:  All State
Can interpreters can be provided? CTLP does have a Spanish Line. Please call the main telephone number and press extension 3. Interpreter will contact individual. Other language interpreters provided as needed.
Wheelchair accessible? Y
Access for the deaf Virginia Relay System
Service guidelines: 
  Your family's income should be at or below 250.0% of the poverty level.

Court costs
 
 
TYPE OF HELP
This office provides the following services:
 
  Full Legal Representation- Representation in tax controversies with the IRS and Virginia Dept of Taxation (such as collection issues, non-filers, tax courts, etc).
  Brief Advice- Generally any self-help questions relating to tax issues.
  Pro Se Legal Clinic- CTLP go to US Tax Courts in Richmond and Roanoke and advise pro se litigants at calendar call.
  Self-Help Materials- please go to www.ctlp.org for EIC, Filing Your Return and many other self-help materials.
  Other- Educational outreach sesssions conducted within the Virginia Community to English and Spanish speaking residents for tax rights and responsibilities.

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency, follow the instructions below. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an emergency?  1. Garnishments of wages or benefits by tax agency. 2. When the tax payer receives a certified letter in the mail from the tay agency notifying them of a deadline.
